The promised update of FsXpand and FsClient with a lot of minor fixes and a few new features.
Too many issues had to be settled in 5.5, so we have decided to start a fresh version. Please report any errors.
FsClient 5.6 will not run with FsXPand 5.4 or 5.5.
The Manual (FsXPand Help menu or in your Windows Program menu) has been updated to reflect changes in this version.
- Importing 5.4 cockpits - This version will import cockpit panels from version 5.4, not before.
- Custom panel names added
- Panel picker - Using this feature, you will be able to create a set of cockpitpanels from the available panels in the templates section.
- New EICAS set - 737EICAS2 is a new set of EICAS panels, the well known primary, secondary, and compact.
- Key codes configurable - The available commands for MCP and EFIS functions are not fixed anymore. You can crete them yourself from the Panel menu, Configure Key Commands, where you can select your commands and add a key sequence of 2 shift status keys and one normal key. There is a list of FS commands as well.
- You can now change all fonts and colours in almost every gauge.
- Frame bitmaps - It is now possible to use a different frame bitmap for each panel. This is to allow for the creation of synoptic panels built from digital readouts.
- Heading bug - added in the Direction Indicator, and the chart will follow the drift in FS. If you want to reset it, you need the button in FS.
- Speed bug - added in the Airspeed Indicator. There is a barber pole speed needle available now in the ASI.
- RMI - the ADF has an option added 'RMI mode' that will make the rose follow the heading of the airplane.
- And a few bugfixes. Full details are in release.txt that comes with your installation.
- Improved performance.
Please remove your entire FsXPand/FsClient 5.6 Beta before installing 5.6 final. You can keep versions before 5.6 installed.

Download FsXPand/FsClient PFD Demo Fs98 - FsX
The FsXPand Primary Flight Display for the 737NG is an example of what we can do. There will be more in the future, but you may want to get your feet wet already by trying this version.
Functionality however is limited to what you can do with the default FS autopilot. Advanced functions will have to wait until our additional simulation library is ready which can take up months. A basically functional navigational Display will be released soon. So at least you have something to start with while building your cockpit.
The graphic enhancement of all the gauges will be realised along with the coming upgrade, but we won't publish it before it is absolutely satisfactory to our standard. In this way your standby instruments may be as much state-of-the-art as you want.
This is a full install. This is a fully functional FsXpand for FsX and previous, but it contains only 1 cockpit: 737pfd.
There is no configuration, no scaling, 768 x 768 only.
Requirements: DirectX 8.1, suitable graphics card. It ran successfully on a GeForce II MX 32 MB. Less powerful cards will fail to initialise the panel and cause a crash.
The program was tested further on a Geforce MX 400 256 MB and an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256 MB.
This program will eat a lot of resources. It is not wise to run it on the FS PC, athough we were able to get a framerate of 6 while doing so on an AMD 2800 with Geforce MX 400.
You may expect still better graphics; the current PFD was only rendered on 600 X 600.

- The brakes became locked when the parking brake was engaged and analog brakes were active. The analog brakes did not respond in a reliable way to control input.
- There were a few problems with the sensitivity button in the joysticks menu. The behaviour of the function itself was unsatisfactory.
The correction requires the controls to be inverted. This option is added in the joystick menu. Please open it for all sticks and click OK to save the inverted values.
The 3 packages below have been corrected as well.

Download FsXPand and FsClient version 5.2 for Fs98 - Fs2004
- This version is a new installation, not a patch. An most important improvement is the 747 EICAS. The surprise is the Fokker 100 EICAS.
- A great feature is the use of rotary encoders on the game port. You now can have a joystick sensitivity curve as well.
- Now you can add bitmaps to a lot of gauges. Some have already been added (turbine panel). The EICAS screens have frames around them if you want.
- Colours of most gauge elements can be changed. A scalar has been added to offer more flexibility in configuring your scales.
FsXPand is limited in use for unlicensed users. If you have not registered, the connection time to FS is limited to 15 minutes per session.
Two separate installations are available in the package, FsXPand and FsClient.
Install FsXPand on your FS PC, FsClient on your additional PC's.
It is possible to install up to 3 FsClients on your FS pc, and deploy the panels on additional monitors.
FsXPand: the program providing FS data for the panels created by FsClient.
FsClient: talks with FsXPand and displays a panel.
With FsXpand/FsClient 5.2, all patches have been included. Please do not apply 5.1 patches to 5.2.

Thanks again to the beta testers, their remarks have been most useful...

Patch for lost/frozen panel problem, and improved network scanning (not available anymore)
This patch fixes four problems:
1. Your flight instruments are frozen, engine gauges are moving in some cases. Unzip the file. Please go to your Program Files/FsXPand folder, and replace your FsXPand.exe file (rename your old one just to be sure).
If nothing is moving at all, please check if you have a connection. The blinkers should be on, and a message appears at the bottom. Please refer to problem 2.
2. Improved network scan
Network scan will be faster. Once FsXPand has found all IP's in the network, the settings will be adapted to that specific range. Please refer to the FAQ entry about IP configuration for details about setting up FsXPand.
3. Some users had to report about losing the panel in FsClient. The problem is with writing the panel location. Please go to your Program Files/FsXPand folder, and replace your FsClient.exe file (rename your old one just to be sure).
4. Flap indicators showing wrong values
With some models, flap positions were reported wrong or not at all. Now they display the right values.
If you just want to see if FsXPand is what you need, try using it with FS2002 or before, and a free version of FSUIPC.

FsXPand and FsClient version 5.1 for Fs98 - Fs2004 (not available anymore)
- This version is a new installation, not a patch. The most important feature is the 737 EICAS.
- FsXPand is great to display your auxiliary instruments on your 737. A pre-configured 737 EICAS with standby instruments is present.
- FsXPand is limited in use for unlicensed users. If you have not registered, the connection time to FS is limited to 15 minutes per session.
Two separate installations are available in the package, FsXPand and FsClient.
If you want only multiple joystick/flight controls functionality, you will need just FsXPand.
Do you want to use one or more panels, you will need FsClient as well.
Install FsXPand on your FS PC, FsClient on your additional PC's.
It is possible to install FsClient on your FS pc additionally, and deploy its panel on a second monitor.
FsXPand: the program providing FS data for the panels created by FsClient.
FsClient: talks with FsXPand and displays a panel.Registration:

We like to express our thanks to the beta team, especially some guy who doesn't need his name displayed here...

Fokker models
In the early FS5.1/98/2000 days, I made two Fokker aircraft models that will fly by the book. Performance is tuned to match the figures in the real aircraft manual. Only after the release of FS2002 models with comparable quality became widely available.
There is only one package to my knowledge at the moment to claim similar fidelity.
Especially on approach and landing, configuration and power settings will produce the right airspeeds at a given weight. If you fill the tanks with 64% of fuel, the .air model will be at maximum landing weight.
Designed for FS98, these planes are remarkably accurate. Optimal use has been made of the limited amount of parts available in FSFS.
The flight planning/flight performance program Jet Operator was designed to fly these planes. It allows flying with different payloads with FS98, and is currently under revision.
