Installing FsClient
Normally, FsClient is installed on 1 or more additional PC's: 1. Make sure that your PC is capable of running heavy 3D applications. This is the case when you have a graphics card manufactured later than 2006. 2. Switch off UAC, or at least for Administrator (see earlier) 3. Run the FsClient installer. Follow the instructions. It is straightforward. You can set a path for the installation. DO NOT set a path that is owned by any other program. You will have errors caused by lack of access permissions. 4. Set your permissions for the now created FsClient share (see earlier) In Explorer (Windows key + E), go to the the \\yourcomputername\FsClient share: R-click, Properties, Sharing, Advanced, Permissions, listed is 'Everyone', click Full control. Do not just create a share manually. If the program cannot do it for you, there is not enough permissions to do it and you should raise your credentials level (be Administrator). 5. Run FsClient. You will have to enter the name of your FS PC in the Host box. The IP box is filled automatically with the IP address of the machine. The client will try to contact the server every 2 seconds or so. When FsXPand is found, the panel is reloaded, data transferred from FS and the panel should be active. |
